Italian journalist Gianfranco Teotino discussed the Inter squad and the players available to coach Antonio Conte in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster Radio Sportiva earlier today.
“Inter wanted to sell Nainggolan, he will help but Conte has eight players for three spots and only Vecino for now would start behind the Belgian in the hierarchy.”
The 32-year-old Radja Nainggolan, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2022, has incredibly close to a move to former home Cagliari this transfer window, with talks ongoing until the very end. However, a deal failed to materialise and so he remains in Milan.
The player impressed last season whilst on loan with the Rossoblu, making a total of 29 appearances across all competitions, for a total of 2279 minutes. In that time, he scored six goals and provided seven assists, quickly being given the captain’s armband for his leadership and important experience.
He has only made one appearance under coach Antonio Conte this season, before suffering muscle inflammation. He is likely to play a rotational role under the 51-year-old Italian and could still be sold in the January transfer window.
