A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has analysed the derby duel between Inter striker Romelu Lukaku and AC Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The report details how the 27-year-old Belgian forward, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2024, silenced his critics last season in his debut season in Milan, scoring 23 goals in 36 league appearances under coach Antonio Conte, including goals in both derbies last season.
Former teammate Ibrahimovic, who is contracted to the Rossoneri until the end of the season, has recovered from COVID-19 after two negative tests recently and so will be available in next weekend’s clash.
The 39-year-old Swede has been key for the Rossoneri since his arrival in January, scoring 10 league goals in 18 appearances in the second half of last season. He scored in AC Milan’s 4-2 derby loss last season as well.
Both players have a goal rate of around 0.6 per game, and both will be looking to drive their team forward to a win next weekend.
