Inter are furious that Moroccan wing back Achraf Hakimi was forced to miss the Champions League clash with Borussia Monchengladbach due to a false positive Covid-19 test, according to a report from Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport earlier today.

The report details how the 21-year-old former Real Madrid player missed the Champions League clash after testing positive for the virus, but two consecutive tests since have both tested negative, confirming that he does not have the contagion.

Inter are seriously angry and could even pursue legal options, the report continues.

Synlab, the laboratory authorized by UEFA to carry out the tests, claim their work was conducted correctly and that all protocols were respected.

Hakimi will be able to play against Genoa this evening and has already travelled to Liguria with the squad.

The 21-year-old, who is contracted to Inter until 2025, has started the season well, scoring one goal and providing two assists in four appearances.
