With Inter striker Romelu Lukaku injured, coach Antonio Conte will be forced to rely on Ivan Perisic and Lautaro Martinez against Parma today, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Corriere della Sera.
The report details how the 27-year-old Belgian striker, who has scored seven goals in seven games so far this season, has suffered a muscle injury and so will miss today’s clash against the Gialloblu.
Conte has been forced to re-think his attack, deciding to start Croatian forward Ivan Perisic and Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez, ahead of Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen.
The 31-year-old Croatian impressed last season whilst on loan with Bayern Munich, where he won the Treble, and sometimes featured as a forward.
So far this season Perisic has played as a left wing back but will take on the more offensive role against Parma today.
Inter are still in talks with Lautaro regarding a new contract, with CEO Beppe Marotta hoping for negotiations to conclude by December.
