Inter striker Lautaro Martinez’s agents, Rolando Zarate and Beto Yaque, discussed the player’s contract renewal with the Nerazzurri and confirmed that there were no issues in an interview with Argentinian media outlet Ole earlier today.

“They are all lies, there are no economic problems. There are no negotiations yet, there is nothing. Inter have not yet given us any offers and Lautaro has not asked for more money.

“We are talking about this for other reasons, obviously there are other interests so we discuss this issue.”

The two agents confirmed that Lautaro is focused on playing and not listening to any of the rumours circulating about him.

“Lautaro is fine. He knows well that he has to focus on the game and not give importance to everything that is said about him, which are all falsehoods.”

The 23-year-old Lautaro, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, was the centre of attention in the summer transfer window, with Barcelona incredibly keen to sign the player.

The Blaugrana could not afford to pay his €111 million release clause and Inter refused to lower their valuation of the player, pushing away the Catalan side for now.

Inter are hoping to negotiate a new deal with the player by December, with the release clause likely to be removed.

Lautaro started the season well, scoring three goals and providing one assist in the first three games, but has since struggled, failing to score or assist in the last five consecutive games.
