Inter coach Antonio Conte and captain Samir Handanovic congratulated Jiangsu Suning for winning the league, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInter1908 yesterday.
The report details how the duo congratulated through Instagram stories the Chinese club, who shared the same owners as the Nerazzurri, the Zhang family.
“Congratulations to Jiangsu for the splendid victory”, said coach Antonio Conte, who has been working with the remaining squad in Appiano Gentile this week during the international break.
Captain Samir Handanovic congratulated the Chinese side, as well as sharing an extra comment for two former Inter players, Eder and Miranda, saying:
“Congratulations to all for the well-deserved triumph. Congratulations to our former teammates Eder and Miranda, we cheered for you!”
Jiangsu Suning finished second in Group A of the Chinese league, winning the play-off final against Guangzhou Evergrande 2-1 in the second leg on Thursday this week.
Inter will be hoping to share the fortunes and successes of their Chinese counterparts, after a tough start to the season.
The Nerazzurri sit 7th in the table after seven games played, winning only one of their last five league games.
