Christian Eriksen’s football future appears to be increasingly far away from Milan according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.
Should a satisfactory offer for both him and the club arrives in the upcoming January transfer window, he could leave the club.
Inter value Eriksen in the region of €25-30 million and have no intention of letting him leave for anything less than what they paid for him last January, which was €20 million.
Inter will not grant discounts nor will they let the Danish national team player go on loan. Suning’s diktat for the mercato is clear and that diktat is to sell to raise funds to sign players such as a fourth choice striker and new left wing-back.
As per this report, Eriksen would like to join a club competing at the highest levels. Paris Saint-Germain are one club who fit the bill for Eriksen and the French club’s sporting director Leonardo is a great admirer of him and already tried to sign him back in October.
Arsenal and Atletico Madrid have both meanwhile approached Eriksen’s agent Martin Schoots. Arsenal contacted him via an intermediary and put the idea of a swap deal involving Granit Xhaka out there but it is not a swap that really excites Inter.
Barring a sensational turnaround in the coming weeks, the idea of Eriksen leaving Inter will only become more concrete as the January transfer window gets closer and then opens.
