Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini discussed the Milanese club’s important 3-0 win over Sassuolo earlier today in an interview with Italian broadcaster InterTV after the game.
“It was a game that we interpreted well. We prepared for the match in a few days, but with the right spirit, we entered the pitch well and immediately found the net and remained compact.
“We brought home a fundamental win.”
The 26-year-old Italian midfielder touched on the tactical approach coming into this clash.
“We changed the midfield, putting ourselves in a three-man set-up in the middle of the pitch like what often happened last year.
“We already knew this set-up, so we didn’t need too much break-in, so we had a good, careful performance. The win is deserved.”
Finally, Gagliardini commented on how whenever he scores for the Nerazzurri, they always win. This has happened 11 times in 11 Serie A games so far.
“So, I hope to score more often. I’m happy, the stats are useless. The important thing is the team, if I can contribute with a goal even better.”
The 26-year-old Gagliardini, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, has made eight appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 472 minutes.
In that time, he has scored two goals and provided one assist, being a regular feature under coach Antonio Conte.
The Nerazzurri’s win puts them in good spirits ahead of next week’s vital Champions League clash against German side Borussia Monchengladbach, a must win game if the team want any hope of progressing to the next round of the competition.
