Inter are looking to sign a new midfielder in the upcoming January transfer window, to add more depth to the department, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen seems destined to leave the club in the upcoming window, only playing nine minutes in the last six games across all competitions. In total he has only played 310 minutes this season.

Uruguayan midfielder Matias Vecino is also not playing under coach Antonio Conte, the report continues, after suffering from a long-term knee injury since July.

This means that Conte only has five players to choose from for three spots in the starting 11, including perennially injured Stefano Sensi.

As such, a new midfielder is needed in January to give Conte more rotational options in the department, especially important as the team look to compete for the Scudetto.
