Christian Eriksen will be part of the Inter starting line-up for tonight’s UEFA Champions League group stage match at home to Shakhtar Donetsk according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
Due to injuries, Eriksen finds himself as the only fit midfielder in addition to Marcelo Brozovic and Roberto Gagliardini who he will start alongside in the middle of the park at San Siro.
Arturo Vidal is missing out due to injury as is Nicolo Barella and the report highlights that tonight’s match could represent an opportunity for Eriksen to turn around what has been a very disappointing season for himself.
The Danish national team player has struggled to cement a place in the Inter starting line-up ever since joining and has recently been limited to making cameo appearances but will be given a rare chance to start tonight against the Ukrainian side who Inter have to beat to stand any chance of progression in the competition.
