The Inter squad need to bounce back with a win against Cagliari tomorrow after their incredibly disappointing early elimination from the Champions League, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset earlier today.

The report details how the Milanese club’s painful 0-0 draw against Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk left them sitting bottom of their Champions League group after six games, failing to even drop into the Europa League, like last season.

The Nerazzurri squad need to have an immediate reaction and perform well tomorrow, like they did against Sassuolo and Bologna after the disappointing results to Real Madrid.

The Inter management and ownership remained convinced that the current project is right and that winning the league title is an objective that could save their season.

Inter are currently third in Serie A after 10 games, sitting on 21 points, five behind league leaders and rivals AC Milan.

The Nerazzurri have won their last three consecutive league games.
