Inter coach Antonio Conte must win the league title now that the team have been eliminated from European competition, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are now one of the top favourites for the Scudetto after their exit from the Champions League earlier this week, considering that their rivals will be playing three games every seven days once the Round of 16 kicks off in both the Champions League and Europa League.

Conte suggested in a press conference yesterday that he was not obligated to win the Scudetto this season, touching on how Covid-19 and other factors have limited this season.

The 51-year-old Italian coach comments suggesting that the virus has impacted their season heavily has drawn some criticism, considering that other teams in Italy have also been dealing with this problem.

AC Milan lost Ibrahimovic, Juventus lost Ronaldo, Lazio lost Immobile and Roma lost Dzeko, just to name a few, displaying how serious of an issue Covid is to all football teams.
