Inter wing back Matteo Darmian discussed today’s clash against Cagliari in an interview with Italian broadcaster Inter TV before the game.
First, he highlighted how today is the right occasion to turn over a new page.
“Yes, there’s anger and disappointment, but we have tried to prepare for it in the best possible way and today we will try, as always, to bring home the three points.”
The 31-year-old Italian highlighted how the squad have never been lacking compactness and confidence.
“These qualities have never been lacking in this squad and it’s up to us to show that we are united even in this moment and prove it on the field.”
He spoke about what type of game he is expecting against the Rossoblu today.
“Cagliari are a good team, it’s never easy to come here and win but I think we’ve prepared for the game well and we know what we have to do. We will try to bring home the three points.”
Finally, Darmian also spoke about the clash against the Rossoblu in an interview with Italian broadcaster DAZN before the game.
“There’s regret, disappointment and anger, but in these days, we have prepared for this important match in the best way.
“Plan B? There are no A’s and B’s, what counts is what we do on the pitch.”
The 31-year-old Darmian, who is currently on loan from fellow Italian side Parma, has made 12 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 712 minutes.
In that time, he has scored one goal and provided one assist, being noted for his strong defensive qualities and tactical flexibility, as he can play on both the left and right side of the pitch.
Inter are currently third in the league table after 10 games with 21 points, five behind leaders and rivals AC Milan.
A win over the Sardinian side today puts the Nerazzurri back in second place, as they’re currently a point behind Sassuolo, who beat Benevento on Friday.
