Inter wing back Achraf Hakimi discussed the Nerazzurri’s 2-1 win over Spezia earlier today in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia after the game.
“We knew this was a very important game after the win against Napoli. We had to win and we did, we still feel very good.”
The 22-year-old Moroccan wing back, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2025, then touched on the Milanese club’s hopes in the title race this season.
“Everyone talks about that, but we have to look at game to game and always try to win.”
Finally, Hakimi spoke about AC Milan forward Rafael Leao’s six second goal against Sassuolo earlier this afternoon.
“He’s a great player and he’s also very fast, but I don’t know if he’s faster than me.”
The 22-year-old Hakimi, who joined Inter in a deal worth around €40 million from Real Madrid in the summer, has made 18 appearances across all competitions so far this season, adapting to coach Antonio Conte’s tactical system.
He has scored four goals and provided four assists so far this campaign, showing his attacking prowess, although it is clear that some defensive work is needed.
Inter’s win means that they are still hot on the heels of league leaders AC Milan. The Nerazzurri sit on 30 points, one behind their intercity rivals.
Antonio Conte’s side are still three points ahead of rivals Juventus, who beat Parma in commanding fashion last night.
