A report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport has discussed Inter’s upcoming challenge, their annual January crisis.

The report details how all coaches since Leonardo have suffered in this period whilst in charge, including coach Antonio Conte in his first year in Milan.

Twelve months ago, Inter were top of the league table, tied on points with Juventus. The club then drew the next three games in a row against Atalanta, Lecce and Cagliari, which put them in a hole that they never recovered from.

On average in Serie A, Conte has a points per game of 2.24, across his 179 league matches in his career.

Only looking at January, however, that average points per game drops to 1.82, showing how the 51-year-old Italian is not immune to January struggles either.

In the Premier League, it was not particularly better for Conte. He had an average of 2.14 points per match in charge of Chelsea, which dropped to 1.5 in January.
