Inter striker Lautaro Martinez discussed the Milanese club’s exciting 6-2 win over Crotone and his hattrick in the game in an interview with Italian broadcaster InterTV after the game.

“I’m happy because we won, we had to win. We did a great job, we faced a tough team to beat that dribbles well and we’re happy for the work done.”

He touched on how the Nerazzurri were a little shaky in the first half, which ended 2-2.

“The week we restarted before the New Year we talked and we had to continue as we had done. We had worked hard for this game and the ones to come.”

The 23-year-old Argentine forward commented on what the team can look to do to improve.

“A lot, I think we have to work every day with our heads down as we are doing.

“We have to keep working until the end of the season, we have to continue like this trying to improve every detail and face every game in the best way.”

Finally, Lautaro touched on how he scored a hattrick against the Calabrian side and how he scored in multiple different ways.

“Yes, there are games when I can’t, today I managed to score with my right foot, my left, my head and I caused an own goal. I’m very happy.”

The 23-year-old Lautaro, who is contracted to the Milanese club until 2023, has made 21 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1412 minutes.

In that time, he has scored 10 goals and provided five assists, netting his first hattrick under coach Antonio Conte.

Inter’s win means that they are now top of the league table after 15 games, sitting on 36 points. A win for Stefano Pioli’s AC Milan against Benevento today would see them return to the top of the table.
