Inter might already have their much sought-after January reinforcement at the club, a report in the Italian media argued today.
The Nerazzurri have been heavily linked with a move for a new central midfielder during this month’s transfer window.
Wednesday’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport, however, highlights that they could have a midfield reinforcement at the club already in Stefano Sensi.
Sensi has struggled greatly with injury since joining Inter from Sassuolo in 2019 but has been slowly re-introduced in recent weeks with him having made several substitute appearances, including 45 minutes during the 6-2 win against Crotone on Sunday.
The Italian national team player starred for Inter in the early part of last season before his injury troubles began and it has become evident that when he plays, the game flows much better.
This is not just down to his technique or touch but also his quick thinking, which is exactly what Antonio Conte wants.
The past few weeks have been like a new beginning for Sensi at Inter and the report goes on to conclude that he could prove to be the ideal reinforcement for Conte’s midfield.
Sensi has made just nine appearances in all competitions for the Nerazzurri this season, with only one start.
Last season he contributed three goals and four assists in 19 appearances.
