Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia has admitted that he does not consider this afternoon’s Serie A clash away to Sampdoria to be an easy one.

The Nerazzurri are on an eight-match winning run in Serie A and will take on Claudio Ranieri’s side at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, with kick off scheduled for 15:00 local time.

“All matches are complicated, this very complicated league season is proving it,” he stated in an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV prior to kick off in Genoa.

“We have to be careful and do what we have done in the last month and keep winning.

He also touched on the fact that many people involved in both sides will be coming up against former employers at this afternoon, himself included.

“Yes, there are many exes of the other club, I’m also a former Sampdoria player.

“They are all important players. We have to be careful and as I said we have keep doing what we did and try to stay on track.

“Let’s hope that we get three points.”

In a follow up interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, the former Hull City player, stressed the importance of winning and how that is all that matters to him and his Nerazzurri teammates.

“The important thing is that today we play a good game and win.

“The league is very balanced, we have to keep up.”

Ranocchia, who finds himself among the substitutes for this match, went on to conclude: “The many former Inter players we will face? We will greet them on the pitch, but today they are opponents and we will have to do something more than them.

“For us, only winning is important.”

Antonio Conte’s side will look to put pressure on league leaders AC Milan with victory in Genova, before the Rossoneri play Juventus at San Siro later this evening.

Romelu Lukaku starts on the substitutes bench as expected with Alexis Sanchez partnering Lautaro Martinez up front.
