Former AC Milan and Genoa forward Adel Taarabt has shared his belief that compatriot Achraf Hakimi is one of the world’s greatest players in his role.

Hakimi has massively impressed during his stint with Inter so far following his arrival in a €45 million, including add-ons, deal from Real Madrid in the most recent summer transfer window.

He starred again in Sunday’s Derby d’Italia win over Juventus, albeit he did not have direct involvement in either of the Nerazzurri’s goals.

“Morocco has players in great teams, Hakimi is one of the best youngsters, one of the greatest talents in his position,” Taarabt, who currently plays for Liga NOS club Benfica, explained in a recent interview, as quoted by Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

In his six months with Inter so far, 21-year-old Hakimi has made 24 appearances across all competitions to date and he has been very effective in terms of both scoring goals and setting them up.

Hakimi has scored six goals and has also provided five assists for his teammates during his time on the pitch, which totals close to 1600 minutes.
