Inter and Lautaro Martinez are edging closer to reaching an agreement to extend the striker’s contract, according to an Italian media report today.
As per Tuttosport’s print edition, the parties remain distant in terms of their valuation for Lautaro’s new wages but there is a shared desire to continue working together.
Inter will not be able to offer the 23-year-old an annual salary of €10 million like Barcelona did last summer, but they will offer around €5 million a year, whereas Lautaro’s representatives would like to see him given €7 million.
The parties should be able to reach an agreement somewhere in the middle and it is possible they will meet again before the end of the season for further talks.
Lautaro, who is already under contract with Inter until 2023, has been ever present for the Nerazzurri this season with him having made 25 appearances across all competitions.
He has scored 10 goals and provided five assists for Antonio Conte’s side.
