Andrea Pinamonti turned down the opportunity to move to Ligue 1 side Lille last summer, according to a recent Italian media report.
FCInterNews.it claim that the French club expressed an interest in the Inter forward and wanted to sign him on a permanent deal.
Pinamonti, who had just returned to the Nerazzurri having been re-signed from Genoa, declined their advances because he wanted to nail down a place in the Inter team under Antonio Conte.
Inter also did not want to let the 21-year-old go as they had a lack of alternatives up front.
In hindsight, Pinamonti’s decision to not accept Lille looks to be a bad one with the Italy under-21 international having barely played whatsoever this season.
He has been limited to just three appearances across all competitions at Inter and in his limited time on the field, he has failed to make any goal contributions for Conte’s side.
