Negotiations between BC Partners and Suning over the sale of Inter are slowing down the Nerazzurri’s new stadium project, according to an Italian media report today.
As per Tuttosport, the possible sale of Inter by Suning to the British private equity fund is further slowing down the process and AC Milan’s owners Elliott Management are watching on impatiently.
The Milan city council, who are already waiting on further documentation regarding the ownership situation of both clubs, are awaiting news on the Inter sale front and could postpone any decision on the matter until after the upcoming elections are completed.
Inter and AC Milan have been working on the project for a new stadium for over a year now with the total cost of the project expected to be in the region of €1.2 billion.
On top of a new stadium being built, the San Siro district will be rejuvenated as part of the project.
