Inter wing-back Ivan Perisic has reassured fans that the injury that forced him off during tonight’s 2-0 win over Fiorentina is nothing serious.

Perisic scored the Nerazzurri’s second goal at the start of the second half before being taken off with 10 minutes left.

The Croatian was confident he would be fit for Tuesday’s Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against Juventus.

“It was a complicated game until the second goal as we ran a lot, I also felt some cramp but it’s nothing serious,” he explained to Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV after the match at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

“We have an important game in three days and it’s all OK, I don’t feel anything.”

The Croatian international then addressed his adaptation into a left wing-back during the course of the season.

“As I have said many times, I am learning to do new things and we are working well.

“It is true that I hadn’t scored in a long time, but today I scored and we won.”

Perisic then looked ahead to Tuesday’s game against the Bianconeri at the Allianz Stadium and was quick to insist that Inter could still reach the Coppa Italia final, given they only trail 2-1 on aggregate.

“Anything is possible, even a few years ago when we lost 3-0 against Juventus in the first leg I told Marcelo Brozovic that anything is possible.

“We won 3-0 and then we lost on penalties, but we need to believe that we can do it because while Juventus are strong, we are too.

“We will go there to win and only in this way can we do something good.”

In conclusion he returned to speak about the clash with Fiorentina and whether the win is a sign of the team’s increasing maturity.

“Yes, it was important to react after a defeat, we did it and I think we had a good match,” Perisic said.

“We could have killed it off earlier, this is a small problem that we still have to solve but we did well and we have to continue like this.”

This season Perisic has scored two goals and provided three assists in 27 appearances across all competitions.
