Inter coach Antonio Conte has been able to breathe sigh of relief after tests revealed midfielder Arturo Vidal has not suffered an injury.

The Chile international was withdrawn at half-time of Inter’s 2-0 victory over Fiorentina in Serie A yesterday evening after a knock to his left knee, with Roberto Gagliardini introduced in his place at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

However, medical tests carried out today have returned good news for Conte, with Vidal showing no signs of lasting injury or reason for concern, according to FCInterNews.it.

Early tests after he was withdrawn suggested that no serious injury had been suffered and today’s follow up has confirmed this.

With the summer arrival from Barcelona suspended for Tuesday’s Coppa Italia Semi-Final against former club Juventus, Vidal will be afforded the whole week to undergo a training schedule with a view to featuring against Lazio next Sunday.

The 33-year-old has made 26 appearances for Inter in all competitions this season, scoring twice.
