Suning’s future at Inter remains in doubt despite their desire to keep the club, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Tuttosport’s print edition said uncertainty still reigned over the Nerazzurri after Suning ensured Inter respected UEFA’s various payment deadlines on March 31 (yesterday).

China’s tough restrictions on exporting capital abroad means the situation is unlikely to brighten for Inter’s owners anytime soon, the report warned.

The Turin-based paper said it was significant that Suning were yet to provide an official answer to BC Partners on their €800 million offer to buy Inter.

Inter’s future will become clearer during the first few weeks following the end of this season, at which point Suning must take their next steps.

The Chinese retail giant does not wish to leave Inter but the club are now more than €600 million in debt.

It remains to be seen whether Suning can indeed continue, or whether they will be left with no option but to sell.
