Inter might not need to worry about facing Juventus on the penultimate weekend of the season, a report in the Italian media explained today.

The Nerazzurri are 11 points clear at the top of Serie A with nine matches left, following Wednesday’s 2-1 win over Sassuolo.

Tuttosport’s print edition highlighted that Antonio Conte’s side could wrap up the title before visiting the Allianz Stadium on May 16, if they take 16 points (five wins and a draw) from their next six games.

Alternatively, Inter could secure the Scudetto against their arch rivals, a scenario the Turin-based paper suggested would be ‘priceless’ for them.

Conte’s side could have their first ‘match point’ to mathematically guarantee the title on May 9 when they host Sampdoria.

The Nerazzurri face Cagliari, Napoli, Verona, Spezia and Crotone before the fixture against the Blucerchiati, which precedes matches against Roma and Juventus.

Inter have won 10 games on the bounce in Serie A and could equal the club’s all-time record for consecutive home wins (12) if they beat Cagliari on Sunday.
