Inter are ready to use Achraf Hakimi to devastating effect in next season’s UEFA Champions League, at least if you believe the Moroccan’s agent.
Antonio Conte’s side maintained their 11-point lead at the top of Serie A yesterday with a hard-fought 1-0 win at home to Cagliari.
Hakimi came off the bench to provide the vital assist for match-winner Matteo Darmian, silencing a few critics after an indifferent run of form.
Speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss today, Hakimi’s agent Alejandro Camano said: “Inter have a clear path to the Scudetto now.
“The lead they have built leaves you to think they will get the best outcome this season.
“Conte deserves lots of credit, he’s got Inter playing well now.
“If Inter were playing in the Champions League now, they’d be able to reach the business end of the competition with all their quality, strength and identity.”
Hakimi has provided six goals and seven assists for Inter in all competitions this season, a return which fully justifies the €40 million spent to sign him from Real Madrid last summer.
The 22-year-old has helped the Nerazzurri become the first team in Serie A history to begin the second half of a league campaign with 11 straight wins.
Inter are therefore odds-on favourites now to win the club’s first league title since 2010.
