Inter’s dream summer signing is Sergio Aguero at Manchester City, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Calciomercato.com said the Nerazzurri had not lost all hope of beating Barcelona and Juventus to the 33-year-old, who will be a free agent when he leaves the Premier League leaders in the summer.

Inter are likely to pursue another striker in the transfer window with Roma’s Edin Dzeko and Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud also said to be options.

The Nerazzurri may ultimately decide to chase a younger profile though, with all three of the above forwards already well into their 30s.

Antonio Conte wants three signings in order to continue as Inter’s head coach next season, the report claimed, although everything will become clearer after he has met club president Steven Zhang for talks.

Conte will struggle to find another club prepared to offer him an annual salary of €12 million, but he is a winner and might not want to stay if there is no chance of improving Inter’s current squad.

Inter will seek a new left wing-back in addition to a fourth striker, with Ajax’s Nicolas Tagliafico and Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri thought to be possibilities.

The Nerazzurri are also likely to seek a quality midfielder such as Udinese captain Rodrigo de Paul, although Liverpool’s Georginio Wijnaldum is a back-up option.
