Romelu Lukaku has silenced his critics by increasing his transfer value since joining Inter, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Gazzetta.it recalled how many onlookers thought it was ‘a financial insult’ for the Nerazzurri to spend €65 million (plus €10 million in add-ons) to sign the Belgian from Manchester United 2019.

Lukaku was viewed by some as an unproven prospect at certain levels, but Inter’s club-record signing has proven everyone wrong with 61 goals in 91 appearances.

The 27-year-old is now said to be worth €90-95 million, although Antonio Conte will hope Inter have no intention of cashing in on his talisman in the summer.

Inter will need to at least consider selling a key player during the upcoming transfer window, the Milan-based publication warned, but the club have ‘a gold mine’ on their hands thanks to the incredible job Conte has done.

Lukaku’s strike partner Lautaro Martinez is now valued at around €70 million, having joined Inter from Racing Club for €25 million in 2018, and El Toro is about to sign a new three-year deal with the help of new agent Alejandro Camano.

Inter’s defensive trio of Milan Skriniar (€40 million), Stefan de Vrij (€40 million) and Alessandro Bastoni (€50 million) is said to be worth at least a combined €130 million now, with Bastoni set for a key role under Roberto Mancini when Italy play the European Championships in June.

Nicolo Barella is viewed as a future club captain and would be worth at least €60 million, while Christian Eriksen has retained his €27 million valuation following his move from Tottenham Hotspur in January 2020.

Marcelo Brozovic is valued at around €40 million (although the midfielder’s contract expires in 2022), while Ivan Perisic could fetch Inter around €10 million despite being 32 years old.
