Antonio Conte wants Marcelo Brozovic to make one final improvement to his game at Inter, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As per Calciomercato.com, Conte was involved in an amusing exchange with Brozovic during last week’s 1-1 draw at Spezia, when the Croatian misplaced a pass in midfield.

Inter’s boss told him to ‘stop doing this s***’ and then urged Brozovic to ‘play simple’ when the 28-year-old replied by saying he was not under pressure from opponents.

Conte wants Brozovic to improve his simple passing so that Inter can improve in Serie A and in Europe, where midfielders are required to think quickly and execute passes with the utmost precision.

Inter are only four points away from securing the scudetto but Conte is maniacal with every detail and knows they must have exceptional accuracy in midfield if they are to make progress in the UEFA Champions League.

Brozovic was known for his anarchic and inconsistent performances during his early years at Inter, but he has since developed into the Nerazzurri’s midfield metronome and one of Conte’s most irreplaceable players.

The former Dinamo Zagreb midfielder covers more ground on average (13 kilometres per game) than any other player in Serie A, with Nicolo Barella ranked fifth on that list (11.4km per game).

Brozovic acts as the bridge between Inter’s defence and attack, although a report elsewhere today claimed he could leave in the summer with his contract set to expire in 2022.
