Inter could be set for an enormous upheaval behind the scenes if Antonio Conte leaves the club, a report in the Italian media warned today.

As per Corriere dello Sport’s print edition, Conte’s future at Inter remains in serious doubt as he awaits a meeting with club president Steven Zhang, which should happen after the match against Juventus or Udinese.

If Conte chooses to leave the Nerazzurri, because he isn’t satisfied with the club’s prospects in the transfer market, it could persuade several key players to ask for a sale as well.

What’s more, Inter directors Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio could also follow Conte out of the door if the Nerazzurri’s head coach walks out on Suning.

Zhang is unlikely to receive a positive response from Inter’s players after asking them to give up two months’ wages, the Rome-based paper added.

The players believe they have already done enough to help Suning by agreeing to defer the November and December payments from 2020 to the end of this month, along with the installments for March.

In any case, the report assured that Inter were not in danger of suffering a points deduction because their payment deadlines will be respected whatever happens.
