Inter will try to find a buyer for Arturo Vidal and his hefty salary in the summer, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As per Gazzetta.it, Suning are looking to cut costs ahead of next season and one way of doing this is to offload players on high wages.

Vidal earns €6.5 million annually at Inter and this is considered far too much for someone who has contributed very little since his move from Barcelona.

Inter will have to talk Vidal round to the idea of leaving though, after the midfielder told ESPN Chile recently: “It’s very difficult to think about joining another team when we only won the Serie A title two weeks ago.

“It’s very difficult to know what will happen now, but the Champions League is my dream and it keeps me awake at night (the thought of winning it).

“I want to keep going here at Inter and try to win it.”

Vidal clearly has no intention of leaving Inter anytime soon, but the Milan-based publication said they would try to persuade him to leave.

The 33-year-old was thought to only have one year on his contract left, but this report revealed that he actually has two because Inter signed him to a three-year deal.

Inter had to guarantee Vidal a three-year deal so they could benefit from Italian tax law in terms of paying his wages, but the Nerazzurri do have an option to terminate his contract one year early in 2022.
