Antonio Conte is finally ready to meet Steven Zhang and Inter’s directors to discuss his future, according to a leading Italian broadcaster this afternoon.

Sport Mediaset (via FcInter1908.it) said Conte’s much-anticipated summit with club officials would take place ‘in the coming hours’, although they didn’t specify if that meant today or tomorrow.

In order to persuade Conte to stay at Inter, Suning must first assure there will be no repeat next season of this year’s intense financial difficulties.

The parties will also discuss the Nerazzurri’s transfer plans though, a matter over which Conte and his directors will seek ‘significant’ reassurance.

Zhang has a big task on his hands to convince Conte and the likes of Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio to remain at the club, because they want to continue the project Inter began two years ago (when Conte joined as head coach).

Inter’s hard work bore its first fruits this season as Conte led the Nerazzurri to their first Serie A title in 11 years.
