Lazio midfielder Marco Parolo has given his appraisal of the special qualities that Inter midfielder brings to the Italy national team at EURO 2020.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, reported by L’Interista, the former Italian international gave praise to the energy which the Inter man brings to Roberto Mancini’s Azzurri team.

Italy have reached the semi-final round of the competition after knocking out the likes of Austria and Belgium, and will meet Spain later this evening.

Italy supporters will hope that the team can come to grips in the midfield battle with the Spanish team, and Barella will be a key player in their hopes of accomplishing this.

The 24-year-old impressed last season for the Nerazzurri, playing a vital role in Antonio Conte’s Scudetto-winning side, and has so far carried this form over on to the international stage, with the player having bagged a goal against Belgium, opening the scoring for the match with an impressive strike.

Parolo gives his thoughts on what Barella brings to the team:

“Barella has an inexhaustible motor who is not averse to playing.”
