Inter are ready to extend the contract of 19-year-old midfielder Lucien Agoume to 2024.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Frenchman is a player in the Nerazzurri’s plans going forward.

Agoume spent last season on loan with newly-promoted Spezia, where he got his first taste of top-flight football and impressed when he played, but made only twelve appearances.

The midfielder’s appearances for Spezia were enough, however, to convince the Nerazzurri that he is a player with the right qualities to remain a serious contributor, and the club will secure the player’s future with a contract renewal until June 2024, in the hopes that he can eventually contribute to the Nerazzurri first team.

The immediate future of the player is less clear, but he will be in attendance as Inter commence their pre-season training camp on Thursday, and will hope to take his opportunity to impress head coach Simone Inzaghi with his displays in training.
