Inter midfielder Radja Nainggolan’s departure for Cagliari still faces difficulty, and the player’s future remains uncertain.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 33-year-old is currently in training with the rest of the squad and manager Simone Inzaghi.

It is not thought that the midfielder is in the club’s plans for next season, and the hope is that he can be offloaded in the summer so that his wages can be removed from the club’s balance sheet.

Cagliari are heavily interested in signing the Belgian, who spent the second half of last season on loan with the Sardinian club.

However, as of yet the Rossoblu have not yet been able to complete the deal to sign Nainggolan on a permanent basis.

It is not yet clear what the player’s situation would be should an agreement not be reached that would see him leave for Cagliari, though the clubs are still trying to push ahead with the deal.
