Inter are preparing a contract extension offer for midfielder Nicolo Barella, and will not even consider offers for the player from other clubs.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri have received preliminary interest from a number of major European clubs but are making their stance clear that they intend to keep the player.

Barella’s performances for the Nerazzurri since joining the club in the summer of 2019 have attracted interest from a number of clubs, with his form for Italy at the Euros having heightened the admiration.

It is believed that large offers for the 24-year-old have already come in from a number of top Premier League clubs, but the Nerazzurri are only committed to keeping the player.

To this end, a contract extension will be offered to the midfielder which will take him beyond the expiration of his current deal in 2024, and will increase his salary to a net of €4.5 million per season.
