Inter wing-back Valentinos Lazaro’s agent Max Hagmayr has given updates on the situation of his client with the Nerazzurri.

Speaking to FCInterNews journalist Daniele Mari after exiting from the Inter headquarters, the agent explained that the Austrian has tested negative for COVID-19 and that he hopes to remain at the Giuseppe Meazza next season.

Lazaro joined Inter from Hertha Berlin in the summer of 2019, but was unable to establish himself in the starting eleven under Antonio Conte, having been sent out on loan to Newcastle United in the second half of his first season before returning to the Bundesliga to spend last season on loan with Borussia Monchengladbach.

The 25-year-old has been linked to moves away this summer, either permanently or on loan, but as Hagmayr explains it is his intention to stay at the club.

“We had a meeting,” Hagmayr explained about the purpose of his visit with the Nerazzurri, “and I explained that Valentino wants to stay.”

Lazaro also experienced the setback of a positive test for COVID-19 last week, after a preliminary test before entering the Nerazzurri’s pre-season training camp, having to remain in isolation as a precaution.

However, as the player’s agent confirms, he has now tested negative, and should be able to resume normal footballing activities:

“He is already negative, so I think he really can soon be part of the team.”

He continued by reiterating that “There is interest for Valentino, but his decision is, first of all, is to stay.”
