Federico Dimarco hopes to establish himself in the starting eleven at Inter, and wants to stay at the club next season.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the 23-year-old has ambitions to play regularly for the Nerazzurri and eventually to become a full Italian international.
Dimarco returns from his loan with Hellas Verona, where his form impressed, and it has not been clear what the immediate future holds for the Italian.
The possibility of a sale or another loan move away have not been precluded, although with Ashley Young having departed on the left side of the pitch and Ivan Perisic’s sale also a possibility, he has been in consideration to play the left-wing-back role.
The Nerazzurri could still make a signing in the position, with Manchester United among the names linked, although for now it appears that Dimarco is impressing in pre-season.
The player’s versatility could be another attribute in his favour, with Simone Inzaghi potentially able to call on him not only as a left-wing-back, but also as a left-sided centre-back to back up Alessandro Bastoni.
The player, for his part, is determined to stay and cement himself at the Giuseppe Meazza.
It now appears that he could get his wish, with the club more than happy to keep him in the squad for next season, although they could still be swayed by an offer of €10-12 million should anything concrete arrive.
