Federico Dimarco wants to stay at Inter, who are currently more than happy to keep the 23-year-old in the squad and will not consider his sale for less than €12 million.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the defender’s qualities have been appreciated by Nerazzurri head coach Simone Inzaghi in training and in the pre-season friendly against Lugano.
Dimarco returns to the Giuseppe Meazza from a loan spell with Hellas Verona, where he impressed under Ivan Juric.
The player’s immediate future has not been clear, with his form at Verona thought to have attracted the interest of a number of clubs.
However, he is also seen as a valuable squad member at Inter, able to cover both the left-wing-back and left-sided centre-back positions, and the new manager’s impression of him in training has confirmed that he could have a place at the club.
The player is also intent on staying at the Nerazzurri and finding a place for himself at the club.
It is still possible that the Nerazzurri would listen to offers for Dimarco should a club be serious about meeting their valuation, but as it stands it appears that the player is set to remain at the club for next season.
