Inter will hope that Denzel Dumfries will push his current club PSV towards accepting a loan move with the Nerazzurri for the player this summer.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Dutchman remains a priority target for the Nerazzurri in their search for a right-sided player to replace Achraf Hakimi.
Hakimi’s departure on the right side of the squad has meant that the Nerazzurri have made finding a right-sided player with the correct profile to replace the Moroccan a priority in the summer transfer market.
Multiple names have been linked during the course of this search, with Cagliari’s Nahitan Nandez currently reported to be the player who the club are closest to signing.
However, Dumfries is also a significant target for the role, with head coach Simone Inzaghi said to be a big fan of the Dutchman.
A deal for Dumfries could prove difficult, especially on a financial level, but the club will hope that the 25-year-old wants a move to the Nerazzurri, and that he will make his views known to PSV.
The Nerazzurri are working within budgetary restrictions during the summer, and can only sign players of Dumfries’s stature on loan with an option to buy, and they will hope that PSV can be moved to accept these conditions and sanction a move or the 25-year-old.
