Spanish giants Atletico Madrid could look to sign Inter striker Lautaro Martinez next summer should he not renew his contract with the Nerazzurri.

This according to Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, who report that the Madrid-based club are unlikely to move for the Argentine this summer but will make a major effort to bring him in next summer when he has one season left on his contract, should he not extend his current deal beyond the end of June 2023.

Martinez has a number of suitors throughout Europe, but Atletico are thought to be one of the clubs with the most serious interest in his signature.

The Colchoneros are unlikely to move for the 23-year-old this summer, with the club already having Luis Saurez in the centre-forward position in addition to possibly pursuing a return for Antoine Griezmann from Barcelona.

However, their situation could change next summer, and they will go all out for Martinez should the Argentine not have agreed on a contract renewal with the Nerazzurri.
