Napoli are interested in bringing Inter midfielder Matias Vecino in on loan for next season, though the Nerazzurri do not want to part ways with the Uruguayan.

This according to today’s print edition of Napoli-based newspaper Corriere del Mezzogiorno, who report that the 29-year-old is a major target for new Partenopei manager Luciano Spalletti.

Napoli are looking to sign a midfielder in the summer transfer window, with Tiemoue Bakayoko returning to Chelsea after his loan last season and Diego Demme having picked up a serious injury which could rule him out of a significant portion of the upcoming season.

Vecino is one of the top names on their list, with the Uruguayan having worked with Spalletti before when the pair were at Inter together and the new Napoli manager hoping for a reunion.

However, Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzgahi also likes the 29-year-old’s characteristics, and would like to have him available in midfield for next season, so the Nerazzurri do not consider him to be for sale.
