Torino Sporting Director Davide Vagnati has denied that the Granata are in talks for Inter midfielder Matias Vecino this summer.

Speaking to Italian news outlet L’Interista, the Director clarified that his club have not made contact with the Nerazzurri or with the midfielder about a possible move.

The 29-year-old is thought to be a player who Inter manager Simone Inzaghi rates highly and would like to keep in the squad for next season, but there has also been reported to be transfer interest in him.

Napoli are thought to be keenest on the Uruguayan, with new Partenopei head coach Luciano Spalletti having worked with the player for two seasons while in charge of the Nerazzurri, but Torino have also been reported to be considering a move for him.

However, as Vargnati’s words make clear, the Piedmont-based club have not currently taken any steps towards potentially bringing the Nerazzurri player in this summer, with the Director stating straightforwardly “I categorically deny any contacts for Vecino, we are not dealing with him.”
