Inter will meet with Alejandro Camano, agent of striker Lautaro Martinez, tomorrow to discuss the Argentine’s future and hope to come to an agreement on a new contract.
This according to Italian news outlet NerazzurriSiamoNoi.it, who report that tomorrow’s talks are set to be decisive as to whether the player extends his current deal or not, with the main question being whether an agreement can be found on his wage increase.
The Nerazzurri want to extend the striker’s deal, and the 23-year-old wants to stay on with the club and agree on a new contract.
However, with Camano set to demand €7 million net per season, increased from the €2.5 million he currently earns, and the Nerazzurri ready to start at €5.5-6 million, it remains to be seen if the parties can come together.
The agent believes that with the Argentine set to be a central part of the Nerazzurri’s project going forward, he should receive a salary increase that reflects his importance.
Should no agreement be found, Martinez’s future with Inter will be very much up in the air, with his current deal set to run out at the end of June 2023 and a number of top clubs interested in his signature.
