Paris Saint-Germain’s Dutch full-back Gregory Van der Wiel was rumored to be on his way to sign for Inter for much of this summers silly season but a deal never materialized. In an exclusive interview with France Football the players agent, the infamous Mino Raiola, explains why the player never made the switch to Milano and the Serie A.
“I’ve always been honest and I was honest when I said that Van der Wiel is one of the best full-backs in the world. Some people said that Raiola was crazy, where are they now? With regards to Gregory it was always just a question of time. A big part of the merit goes to Laurent Blanc because today Van der Wiel is a constant feature in the starting 11 for PSG.”
“This summer he was very close to signing for Inter but we decided to stay in Paris and then the club didn’t want to let him leave. When Gregory leaves PSG he will do so as a winner and not a loser” Raiola concludes.
