Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi is set to miss at least a month of football as he recovers from a sprain to his right medial collateral ligament sustained in yesterday’s match with Sampdoria.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 26-year-old is set to be out until some time in October at the earliest with the injury setback.
Sensi hurt his knee in a clash with Sampdoria defender Maya Yoshida, which caused him to have to come off the pitch in some considerable pain despite having attempted to play on after the incident.
Especially given the midfielder’s injury history since joining Inter from Sampdoria, there were worries that the injury could be very serious and rule him out for a significant portion of the season.
This does not appear to be the case after the results of a scan earlier today, but there is little doubt that the player will have to wait at least a few weeks before he can make his return to the pitch.
