Francesco Bardi’s performances with Livorno so far in the Serie A has surprised many and raised equally as many eyebrows as many people have been impressed by the young keeper. This also applies to Catalan giants FC Barcelona who have been rumoured in trying to lure the player as a direct replacement for Victor Valdes who has declared that he will leave the club when his contract expires in June 2014. TuttoMercatoWeb contacted Bardi’s agent, Vincenzo Rispoli, to shed some light on the matter.

“Yes I can confirm that barcelona are interested in him. I’ve seen some concrete evidence which confirms this and which is something that makes us very happy. It’s a sign of a recognition that he is regarded high in esteem that such a club is tracking him, this is a big thing for Francesco and for the job he’s doing right now. However, he’s calm with Livorno and the U-21 national team. Either way Inter have demonstrated that they believe in him, which they have done by not being prepared to even enter into a co-ownership with any club but instead  opted to hang on to 100% of the rights to the player” Rispoli concludes.
