Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is set to miss out on starting the Nerazzurri’s Champions League clash with Sheriff Tiraspol this evening, with either Matias Vecino or Arturo Vidal to start in place of him.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Turk is likely to not be ready to play from the start due to the ankle bruise which kept him out of starting the clash with Lazio on the weekend.

Calhanoglu picked up the ankle knock while on international duty with Turkey over the break, and the 27-year-old still has not been deemed to be ready to start the match against Sheriff, though he will make the bench.

Meanwhile, on the left Federico Dimarco is competing with Ivan Perisic for the starting wing-back role having started against the Biancocelesti with Perisic deputizing in attack, while at right-wing-back Matteo Darmian is the favourite to start ahead of Denzel Dumfries.
