The agent of former Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has been discussing how much he improved whilst playing for the Nerazzurri, according to a report in the English media today.

Whilst speaking to Sky Sports, Federico Pastorello explained that Romelu Lukaku improved dramatically as a striker during his two years at Inter under Antonio Conte.

“Two years with Conte helped him. He can score with left, right, he has perfected himself as a forward working with Conte. He also had the opportunity to improve himself personally. He felt desired.”

Speaking of the transfer to Chelsea in the summer, the agent admitted that despite the known financial difficulties that Inter are under, they had underestimated just how much Inter wanted to keep Romelu Lukaku.

“For Inter, everyone knew they were having financial difficulties even though Chelsea had partly underestimated how much the club did not want to sell him.

“That was part of my job, making it clear that without the right offer the player would not have moved. There had been many offers before reaching the figure that Inter accepted. There were four offers.”

Federico Pastorello was keen to emphasise that Romelu Lukaku really did adore Milan and the fans, but Chelsea are the team he has always wanted to succeed with given it is where he did most of his development.

“Romelu was incredibly happy in Milan, he loves the fans, the city and the club. But, on the other hand, he always dreamed of returning to Chelsea. I knew it, since 2017, he told me that there were two clubs of his dreams: Chelsea and Real Madrid.”

Chelsea signed Romelu Lukaku from Inter late in the summer transfer window for a reported fee of €115 million which helped to steady Inter’s finances somewhat.
